ABOUT Evolution Glass

Evolution Glass creates beautiful, durable, and innovative surfaces using 100% locally sourced bottle glass. Their versatile products, which include counter tops, tables, and accent pieces, create an inspiring experience in any space. Their internationally-acclaimed products are created using a technique that is based on over 10 years of work in design and art. Evolution Glass has a mission to provide goods that simultaneously reduce the amount of glass sent to landfill locally and globally.

Apprentices will learn in-depth about the properties of glass and the techniques and processes through which it is transformed. Apart from glass, apprentices will have a hands-on experience working with a variety of different materials, including wood, metal, plastic, and ceramics. Apprentices will have a chance to be involved in the research and development of new products. Additionally, apprentices will also have opportunities to develop their marketing and presentation skills through meetings clients and partners.

Skillsets include: Melting and forming glass using fusing and casting techniques · Creating functional and decorative art using readily available glass · Operating a glass kiln · Glass finishing, including cutting, grinding, polishing, and repair · Using a MIG welder · Research and development of new products · Marketing and sales strategies

Prerequisites: Strong interest in craft and art · Experience with hand tools and light power equipment · Able to lift loads of up to 50lbs
